Where did Uncle Barry go?

He never writes, he never calls. Its mysterious. It truly is! I bet he is busy with some important science stuff or some business venture or other.

In other matters.

Mum's Birthday...

Following on from the visit to the Ritz, there was the family jolly to Bath at the weekend... I feel it fairly safe to say myself and everyone in the family had a super time. It was lush. Sorry I didn't take any photos. Well one, where my Dad, my Bro and the baby are all admiring some ducks, but it isn't really that good. I ate like food was going out of fashion and it was just a generally lovely weekend.

We spent Saturday at Stourhead, a National Trust Property. Yeah, I yawned at the thought too, but it was actually pretty lovely and we were reasonably lucky with the weather. The rain held off for us to have a good old mooch about the beautiful grounds and lake and the place was in full bloom. The air was heavy with the scent of the various big flowery bushes. There was even a grotto and a "nymph of the grot." I liked that, it sounded like the type of nymph I'd be.

Saw a bit of Bath on Friday afternoon/Sunday morning, but it was mostly just about nice meals and good company. Turns out my family aren't that bad after all.

Comedy this week...

I'm doing a Pete Park Walker gig in Archway tonight. I notice a strange eerie silence from other comics about the evening and it is questionable as to whether or not there will be an audience. PPW is such a nice bloke that I still feel keen to support him in his comedy exploits, but if tonight is a shambles, I may be giving future nights a bit more of a wide berth. I'm struggling with the such a nice bloke concept even if it might be that he isn't cut out for comedy promotion. Hmmm.

On Wednesday, I'm at the Green Man in Fitzrovia for a Get Happy gig. These gigs are usually very nice, but last time I went to a Wednesday one in Fitzrovia (just to watch) it was called off, again due to lack of audience. (Even good gigs get pulled sometimes.) The only audiences were Sprogs and I then! Hopefully that won't be the case this time. I can highly recommend this cheery fun comedy night, if anyone is floating around the Goodge Street area.

Fat club tomorrow.

Aaaaah, Not expecting good news. I have lived the life of a merry fat person pretty much every day since last Tuesday's meeting and expect the weigh in to confirm that! As of Wednesday this week, I will endeavour to embrace the WW way with a bear hug of commitment not yet witnessed by healthy eating specialists in the modern world. I might start keeping the tracker and counting points again - at the very least! Maybe I'll have a salad or something before going to the pub.

I'm off now. Time to finish a few work type bits before heading to sunny Archway. Fun, fun fun!!

  1. I've been attending dress-making classes so that I can sew together my suit of human skin properly!

And I've been busy with problems (lots of problems, in fact) at CERN and business fun. But I'm always thinking of you... I've just looked and there's not an emoticon for a sinister leer which expresses furtive lust. Shame.

  2. HELLO BARRY :) ... Problems is it? Sorry to hear that.

Suit of Human Skin is it? Hand or machine stitched?

  3. Actually, things aren’t going so well on the transgender skin suit front.

My Mum always said that, in the Fifties, you were taught that, if a seam was a little untidy, often you could cover it over with a nice piece of brocade. But that’s going to look awful. I’ve already looked at the lines and there is a very good chance that I may resemble a poor man’s Agnetha from Abba.

Talking of which, apart from the Buckingham-Nicks story, she’s my “fave celeb”… who else marries their stalker, eh?! Agnetha is now 58. Where did all those years go?

What do you suggest, Aunty Jo? Should I leave behind my serial killer fantasies and concentrate on us starting a family? Obviously we’d have to ask that fellow at the UN for permission, but I think an Oglet-MacEvoy would look simply stunning.

  4. fellow at the UN? Oh god, here we go.

I don't see why you can't have both those dreams at once. You continue to pursue the serial kiling fantasies and we try for a little Oglet-MacEvoy.

Thing is I don't know if I'm ready just yet for kiddywinkles. What I'd really really like is a little puppy.
